What to Bring:

  • Water resistant hiking boots with firm treaded soles and ankle supports are essential
  • Sunglasses, sunscreen and hat
  • Warm layers in cooler months

Fitness Requirements:

  • A reasonable level of fitness is required for the hike as you will be walking up to 11kms on one of the days across beach and grassland, with some rocky terrain. Preparation is highly recommended
  • You will be required to carry a small backpack weighing between 7-10kgs.

Day 1 - Launceston

Commence your exploration of the 'Apple Isle' as you land in Launceston Airport and are transferred by private car to your hotel. You’ll have the opportunity to relax and freshen up before meeting your Journey Director for drinks and canapés at a Welcome Reception.

Day 2 - Wukalina Walk

This is a two-night Aboriginal-owned and operated exclusive guided walk through the magnificent natural landscape of the Bay of Fires and Mt. William areas, the cultural homeland of the Palawa people. The walk is a genuine cultural experience that will deepen your understanding of Palawa (a Tasmanian Aboriginal ‘clan’) culture and community history as well as immerse you in the natural, rugged beauty of Wukalina and Larapuna.

Spend two nights in absolute comfort in bespoke Palawa-inspired (domed) huts. You’ll be accompanied by Palawa guides in the footsteps of their traditional people on the cultural homelands of Wukalina and Larapuna (8 km per day at an easy to moderate pace). Hear Palawa creation stories and participate in cultural practices that have been passed down through hundreds of generations.

Day 3 - Wukalina Walk

Your exclusive Wukalina walk continues today through the magnificent natural landscape of the Bay of Fires and Mt. William areas.

Day 4 - Bay of Fires - Freycinet

After breakfast, we will board our vehicle for a visit to Eddystone Point Lighthouse (larapuna) before heading down the S.E coast for lunch and onto Coles Bay and Freycinet National Park. The natural beauty of this region and is simply breathtaking. It comprises of a peninsula defined by a Schouten Island and a granite mountain range known as the Hazards. Trails lead up to a lookout for panoramic views over Wineglass Bay. Coles, Honeymoon and Sleepy Bays form secluded coves. Views from Cape Tourville Lighthouse stretch over the Tasman Sea. After 2 nights on the trail, check in to your secluded waterfront accommodations to unwind, freshen up and enjoy a sumptuous group dinner together.

Day 5 - Freycinet - Hobart

After a leisurely start this morning, continue to Hobart to the renowned Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) for an all inclusive ‘Art Meets Wine’ experience. Perched on the banks of the River Derwent, MONA is Australia’s largest privately owned gallery and museum. Showcasing the diverse collection of its Tasmanian owner David Walsh, the museum exhibits everything from ancient Egyptian funerary objects and modernist masterpieces to a machine that mimics the human digestive system.

Begin your exclusive MONA experience with lunch on-site Source restaurant for a lunch of seasonal local produce and wine. After lunch explore MONA's maze of subterranean galleries, followed by a behind-the-scenes tour Moorilla Estate winery's vineyard, the second-oldest in Tasmania, follows. You’ll be treated to a tasting of ten different Moorilla wines before taking the MONA ROMA ferry to Hobart’s Constitution Dock, where the legendary Sydney to Hobart yacht race concludes each year. From there it’s just a short walk to your accommodation, the 5-star MACq 01 Hotel. The evening is free for you to explore the historic, yet trendy CBD.

Day 6 - Bruny Island

Enjoy an unforgettable, award-winning cruise experience along Bruny Island’s rugged coastline. Take the ferry across the quiet d’Entrecasteaux Channel to the island, where a morning tea of freshly-baked muffins will be served at a beachside café in Adventure Bay before your cruise departs. Then board your vessel to skirt some of Australia’s highest sea-cliffs, enter deep sea-caves and join in the search for seals, dolphins, sea-birds and even migratory whales. Return to the coast for lunch, and arrive back at your Hobart hotel by sunset, with time to relax before a Celebration Dinner at the Old Wharf Restaurant to toast your journey.

Day 7 - Farewell from Hobart

Bid farewell to your newfound friends as your inspiring Tasmanian journey concludes. After breakfast, a private vehicle will transfer you to Hobart Airport for your onward flight.
