After check in, walk down to Four Mile Beach and enjoy an afternoon stroll along the golden sand. With crystal clear water lapping the shore and palm trees swaying in the breeze, it's easy to lose track of time here. With the whole day ahead of you the options for things to do are endless! Why not spend the day sight seeing! Jump in the car and head up north to your first stop of the day, Mount Alexandra Lookout. Take in the breath-taking views of the Daintree Rainforest and its coastline from the lookout point, seeing if you can catch glimpses of the winding Daintree River.

After taking in the views, continue making your way up north to Cow Bay. On a secluded section of the coastline is the popular Cow Bay rope swing. Hanging from a palm tree that swings out over the white sand, this is a favourite spot among locals and tourists alike. Be sure to have a swing and to snap a photo before leaving!

Continue north to Cape Tribulation and the Daintree Rainforest. Go for a scenic walk along the Dubuji Boardwalk. Park your car in the Dubuji car park on the main road at Cape Tribulation. Beginning here, the boardwalk walk will take you approximately 1 hour to complete. It is an easy walk suitable for any age. Once completed head to one final lookout of the day; Cape Tribulation Lookout. At the end the Kulki Boardwalk, an easy 10 minute walk, you'll be met with stunning coastal views. Stop by Myall Beach to go for a stroll, keeping an eye out for the famous bendy palms so you can snap an iconic Port Douglas pic!

Stop in a Cassowary Restaurant for lunch before making your way back down to Port Douglas.

Back in Port Douglas, stop in at your accommodation to have a rest and freshen up before heading out for a romantic intimate sunset cruise with Indigo Port Douglas. Enjoy a complimentary drink and nibbles on deck as you embark on a 2 hour cruise of the Port Douglas waters. BYO your favourite drinks to enjoy during the remainder of the cruise as you watch the sunset on the ocean.

Once back on dry land, if you're still feeling hungry, pick up some takeaway to take back to your accommodation to enjoy after a busy day.

Snap some pictures of the pristine waters before heading 25 minutes south of Port Douglas to Hartley's Crocodile Adventures. Alternatively, if you're looking for something extra special and a little more romantic, book a helicopter ride over Port Douglas with Nautilus Aviation. A once in a lifetime experience will have you seeing the Great Barrier Reef like never before.

After you have toured Hartley's or are back on land having completed your helicopter ride, enjoy an easy lunch at Salsa Bar and Grill, take your time, sit back and enjoy the beautiful Port Douglas weather.

Feeling like a drink or two? Stop by Hemingway's Brewery at Crystalbrook Marina in the afternoon and try some of their famous brews! As night begins to fall and belly's begin to rumble, make your way to dinner at Flames of the Forest, Australia’s only rain forest dining experience. Flames of the Forest offers guests a distinctly different dining experience surrounded by nature with a local tropics inspired menu.

If the weather is warm enough enjoy a morning of reef snorkeling with Quicksilver Cruises or head to Mossman Gorge. If you want to stay on dry land, head out to the canefields or to Thala Beach Coconut Plantation for something different.

Pick up some food supplies, pack a picnic basket and head down to Rex Smeal Park to enjoy an afternoon picnic. If you're there late enough you can watch in awe as the sun sets over the water at this mesmerising location.

Enjoy a beautiful dinner tonight at the Nautilus Restaurant before retiring back at your accommodation for the night.

Day 5

Enjoy your final breakfast in Port Douglas before going for one last walk along the Four Mile Beach.

Come back from your beach walk to check out of your accommodation before heading to Barbados Port Douglas to enjoy lunch with a view at the Crystalbrook Marina.

The Australia part of our trip has sadly finished. In a word, it has been amazing! We owe a lot to our travel agent Tammy Aitchison, who asked the right questions, gave us insightful guidance when planning this trip and basically ironed out the wrinkles we would have undoubtedly experienced had it not been for her assistance. You will discover that her professionalism and attention to detail is world class and her customer service is second to none.

We had a terrific family holiday arranged by Redcliffe Cruise Travel and we wouldn't hesitate to have them assisting us with our next trip. Because we like you guys! Because you are a local company. Because we like having an agent behind us in the event things go wrong on the journey.

As popular as do-it-yourself travel is and as savvy as we are with all things online, there are some aspects of travel that are much better dealt with through a travel agency and someone who really knows what they are doing. Tammy and Redcliffe Cruise and Travel are so knowledgeable and experienced in dealing with those aspects of travel that are challenging. Its good to work through someone who knows what they are doing and who take as much interest in you having a great holiday as you do!!

– Nette G

The service provided is always helpful and comprehensive. The booking documentation is always delivered on time to allow checking and to make changes if necessary.
