Tour Plan

Day 1 - The Journey Begins

Pack the car, get the snacks and get ready for your journey up to beautiful Bundaberg!

Bundaberg is approximately 3.5-4 hours drive from Moreton Bay and what a drive it is! You'll travel through the Sunshine Coast Region but not before stopping to enjoy some of the Sunshine Costs best! If you plan on driving up early in the morning, be sure to stop in at one of the amazing cafes for some breakfast or if you're heading up later be sure to stop somewhere for lunch. Why not go for a walk along the beach and soak in some sun before jumping back into the car.

If you are looking for your next pit stop in your journey, Maryborough, located in the Fraser Coast Region, is a great choice! Famous for its historic buildings, museums and memorials, it is a town with plenty of history. Go for a stroll through town to stretch your legs before heading to Cherry Tree Lane on Richmond Street to find the statue of Mary Poppins. Maryborough and Mary Poppins have a long history with the town being the birthplace of her author Pamela Lyndon Travers.

Once you have taken in all that is Maryborough, hop back into the car for the final leg of your journey to Bundaberg.

Arrive at your accommodation, The Point Resort Bundaberg, and check into your room.

Day 2 - Bundaberg Rum Distillery

Head to the Bundaberg Rum Distillery* for a guided tour and tastings. Be sure to take home some keepsakes from your visit!

*Bookings required

If your head is still feeling okay head to the Kalki Moon Distilling & Brewing where you can sample their selection of Gin, Vodka and Liqueurs.

Stop by the Mon Repo Turtle Centre in the evening. If you're lucky enough to be there during hatching season*, be sure to book in a turtle encounter where you get to watch the turtles hatch on the beach and make their way to the ocean.

*From November to March, visitors can see nesting and hatching turtles on the beach at night.

Day 4 - Explore Bundaberg

Take a short drive up to the coastal town of 1770 in Agnes Waters. Enjoy a day by the water, eat some fish and chips and soak up the sun.

The Australia part of our trip has sadly finished. In a word, it has been amazing! We owe a lot to our travel agent, who asked the right questions, gave us insightful guidance when planning this trip and basically ironed out the wrinkles we would have undoubtedly experienced had it not been for her assistance. You will discover that her professionalism and attention to detail is world class and her customer service is second to none.

We had a terrific family holiday arranged by Redcliffe Cruise Travel and we wouldn't hesitate to have them assisting us with our next trip. Because we like you guys! Because you are a local company. Because we like having an agent behind us in the event things go wrong on the journey.

As popular as do-it-yourself travel is and as savvy as we are with all things online, there are some aspects of travel that are much better dealt with through a travel agency and someone who really knows what they are doing. Redcliffe Cruise and Travel are so knowledgeable and experienced in dealing with those aspects of travel that are challenging. It's good to work through someone who knows what they are doing and who take as much interest in you having a great holiday as you do!!
