Brisbane is on the countdown to welcome three new cruise ships to our brand new $158m mega-cruise terminal at Luggage Point on the northside of the Brisbane River. The new Brisbane Port offers convenience and value for people looking to cruise in late 2020.
With a brand new, bigger port right here in Brisbane, Brisbane and surrounds travellers can expect to save money as they will no longer need to fly to Sydney or Melbourne to take advantage of what the bigger ships have to offer, they will have their pick of several brand new cruise ships the opportunity to travel to more destinations.
Not only will travellers be subject to the above but the greater capacity for larger ships creates so many new opportunities for cruise companies to forward plan more exciting itineraries, provide new and additional ships as demand increases and to use Brisbane as a "stop off" day port for other cruises benefiting cruising travellers in the long run. Currently cruise itineraries are centered around the South Pacific, New Zealand, North Queensland, Papua New Guinea, 1 way cruise/fly Asian adventures or fun themed cruises, but the opportunities in the future are endless.
It's easy to understand how important these NEW Cruise Ships will be when looking at a snapshot of the cruising industry globally:
• The cruise industry will transport 30 million passengers in 2019 (calendar year);
• Growth of the industry is at 5-7% per annum;
• New ship builds are already booked through to 2027 with 24 ships rolling out in 2019;
• Globally the target is 38 million passengers on 434 ships by 2027;
• Cruising creates $134 billion USD industry globally & $5 billion AUD economic impact in Australia
The Australian percentage of the global market is at only 5% so this NEW terminal is so exciting. More than 770,000 cruise passengers visited Queensland destinations in 2018-19, injecting a significant economic benefit. Queensland welcomed over 520 cruise ship days across the state. The opportunity to offer customers more options and attract more visitors to Brisbane provides huge potential for the economy locally and regionally for the ports they visit.
As of October 18th, 2019, Brisbane will be in a new era of cruising. Check out the exciting new ships who will be calling Brisbane home. Get in touch with us today if you are wanting to book and be one of the first people to try the new cruise ships leaving for the new Brisbane port!

We had a terrific family holiday arranged by Redcliffe Cruise Travel and we wouldn't hesitate to have them assisting us with our next trip. Because we like you guys! Because you are a local company. Because we like having an agent behind us in the event things go wrong on the journey.
As popular as do-it-yourself travel is and as savvy as we are with all things online, there are some aspects of travel that are much better dealt with through a travel agency and someone who really knows what they are doing. Tammy and Redcliffe Cruise and Travel are so knowledgeable and experienced in dealing with those aspects of travel that are challenging. Its good to work through someone who knows what they are doing and who take as much interest in you having a great holiday as you do!!
The service provided is always helpful and comprehensive. The booking documentation is always delivered on time to allow checking and to make changes if necessary.
I have used Tammy at Redcliffe Cruise and Travel twice now to book our family holidays. We have found her to be very professional and efficient. She has also been very obliging when I have had to ask questions regarding our holiday. We will definitely be using her in the future.
