Sailing round-trip from Brisbane to New Zealand aboard the beautiful Sea Princess, departing 3 November 2019.
The 2019 theme is BEETHOVEN AND FRIENDS, explore the genius of Beethoven and composers of his era through these exclusive events:
Book through us, Redcliffe Cruise and Travel - (07) 3284 5192
Our cruise offers a range of highlights, including the spectacular glaciers of Fiordland National Park, the Scottish port of Dunedin with its architecturally famous railway station and Lanarch Castle with its beautiful gardens and incredible views, the town of Akaroa and its French history and flavour, its quaint streets and shops and magnificent harbour.
Napier is a small slice of the past, with its art-deco buildings and vintage motor vehicles. Tauranga is a delightful town well worth exploring, and for people with a fair level of fitness, the 230m Mt Maunganui is well worth the climb, affording an excellent view in every direction.
Wellington is the nation’s political capital, while Auckland is the main commercial centre. Both cities offer opportunities for exploring or shopping. There is so much to see and do in New Zealand!
Sea Princess® is a 77,000 tonne ship, the third in the Sun class after Sun Princess®, both of which have carried previous Classic Concerts Cruises.
These ships are particularly suited to our purpose, with a large number of public rooms and lounges, two main restaurants and a number of optional dining venues. There are three swimming pools and six whirlpool spas, and Princess’ famous Movies Under the Stars.
In addition to our own private entertainment, there is an excellent range of entertainment from which to choose, ranging from bingo, a casino, quizzes and guest specialty entertainers right up to Broadway-style musicals and other gala entertainment in the Princess Theatre. Art auctions are held on board, and you may find other entertainment such as photography or wine lectures. Of course, talks are given about the ports you will visit, which you will find very interesting and helpful.
Fares are subject to change and we have listed on the following page the range of fares for each stateroom description. In many cases there may be several fares for each description of accommodation, varying according to size, deck level, proximity to facilities or ship’s utility areas, and location (such as fore, midship or aft position).
Our passengers travel as a special-interest group, and our fares include the cost of engaging our own entertainers, insurance, hire of public rooms, equipment and incidentals required on board to present our events. Please note that admission to our private events cannot be arranged on board, nor may invitations be extended to other passengers during the cruise. Reservations are available only as indicated in this brochure.
IMPORTANT: Unless otherwise requested, all members of our group will be seated in first sitting at dinner (usually 5.30pm) and we will endeavour to have our tables in close proximity, and our members may move freely within those tables to dine with other members of the group.
Members may choose to be seated in second sitting, or to dine at one of the optional dining venues, but this social aspect with other group members will be lost.
Princess Cruises’ EZAir flight packages are available at additional cost for passengers travelling from other centres to join the ship. This includes transfers between airport and ship as required, with Princess Cruises’ Next Port Protection. Fares are subject to availability with your preferred airline, and conditions apply.
Contact us for further details.
IMPORTANT: Princess ships are registered in the UK or Bermuda and therefore medical services on board are not covered by the Australian Government’s Medicare scheme.
For this cruise we have an ensemble of brilliant and highly experienced musicians, including the superb pianist Mark Hooper. Mark is a former Lecturer in Piano at Oxford University, Piano Pedagogy Lecturer at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, and performs regularly internationally.
The ensemble is led by Margaret Connolly, a violinist with the Wiener Volksoper and other ensembles throughout Europe and Japan, and with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra. She has been a regular performer at the Bangalow Chamber Music Festival and in recent years with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra.
GARY THORPE OAM
Music talks will be delivered by GARY THORPE OAM, General Manager of 4MBS Classic FM in Brisbane. Gary has a wealth of experience in the field of classical music, and will enable you to gain an insight into the wider world of classical music and composers.
